BeWeave It: Exhibit in Milan

First off a bit thank you to the Weave Tech group for letting us know about this BeWeave It Topic! If you happen to be lucky enough to be in Milan, Italy these next two weeks make sure to check out the Stelline Foundation’s textile exhibit Essere e Tessere (this translates to “to be is to weave” which we think is quite nice). According to Weave Tech member Anna Ravano, the exhibit features pieces from the Canclini Collection, a collection of cotton pieces both historical and modern by artists including Kounellis, Boetto, Boltansky, and Warhol. Now if like us you can’t make it to Milan at the moment, check out the video here and see some of the exhibit and works–including a loom designed by none other than Leonardo da Vinci!

About Christina Garton

I'm Associatet Editor for Handwoven where I get to interact daily with all sorts of wonderfully creative people. I'm obsessed with twill and weaving dishtowels, although I'm also in love with deflected doubleweave. When I'm not weaving twill towels, I love to try out new fibers and structures and blog about it as I go!
