October 22 – December 18, 2016, Tuesday-Sunday 1-4pm. Exhibition ‘weaving 2.0’ from Anneke Kersten and Roos Cox in Museum Leids Weavershouse, Middelstegracht 143, 2312 TV Leiden, The Netherlands. The two Dutch weaving friends show their new fiber artwork. They use all kinds of fibers, like cotton, silk, paper, copper and steel, glass and horsehair, often hand dyed. Their use of colors is striking and they always search for new developments. Anneke Kersten had her first weaving classes by Nancy Hoskins at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon, early eighties during a stay for more than two years in Eugene with her husband. Roos Cox made her first weavings at the age of 10 and is fascinated by weaving ever since then. The two weavers met in 1988 in the weaving classes of Erica de Ruiter and both developed their art weaving at first by taking certificate weaving classes, later on having exhibitions and teaching weaving.
