This tote bag is woven of plastic bags, plarn, on a cotton warp. The handle is woven on an inkle loom.

This is beautiful. Do you dye the bags somehow? I have never seen plastic bags with such vivid colours.
Thank you "hotweaver" and Dorothy. These are the colors of the plastic bags. I don't think you can dye plastic (the color has to be melted into it as it is extruded, or printed on to the bag, like the little red showing.) Finding colored bags is part of the challenge, to collect enough to make it worth while. For a long time I collected used shopping bags from friends and family. Now I'm glad everyone is using reusable shopping totes, the less plastic waste in the world, the better.
