Great coaster but how do you waterproof them so they can be used for a long time?

Pamela S,

Here's one way to protect the coaster.

You will need:

1 tube clear drying silicone (found at any hardware store)

piece of cardboard or mat board cut just wider than the width of the coaster

wax paper or clean newsprint large enough to protect your work surface

Cover your work surface with the wax paper or newsprint. With the coaster right side up, squeeze a line of silicone across the very top.  Using the cardboard or mat board, "squeegie" the silicone down the length of the coaster. Be sure to cover the entire coaster, top to bottom. Let this dry, then turn it over and do the same on the back of the coaster.
