Swedish Lace Mats

This 2 Block challenge was a very useful project not having used such a draft before. I chose Swedish Lace which needs a very light beat that I found hard to maintain evenly. The benefit is that it weaves up very quickly since you are placing and spacing the weft in delicately, but it looks just wiry on the loom.  Laundering after is definitely part of the process here, when all the threads settle where they need to be--quite magic really!  Though white on white 10/2 pearle cotton looked the best, I wove one with a sea green weft and one with beige pattern and blue tabby for variation and interest.  This 5 thread lace is fairly static, not much room for  variation but the outcome of this structure was satisfying.
