I am a teacher of English as a foreign language by profession and moved to Chile from Australia to teach in 1993. Now I live in Santa Cruz, Bolivia and recently quit my job to dedicate my time to weaving ,writing, traveling and teaching backstrap weaving which I have been studying here with indigenous weavers since 1996. I have been meticulously documenting the braiding and weaving techniques I have learned here and hope to put out a book one day about my travels and my experiences learning to weave, living with indigenous families and the various weaving techniques they employ to create their beautiful textiles. I have had articles published in Handwoven, Shuttle, Spindle & Dyepot and the WARP newsletter.
I blog about my backstrap weaving and have recently written an e-mongraph on Andean pebble weave.
