Weave Eleven Pillows on One Warp

A weaving project like this is perfect for practicing different weaving techniques. Warp once and weave a whole variety of pillows in overshot, boundweave, lace, and more!

This weaving project by Madelyn van der Hoogt and Suzie Liles was mentioned in the Nov/Dec 2015 issue of Handwoven. Here are the instructions for weaving eleven different pillows on just one warp. The pillows are based on a draft originally published by Penelope Drooker.  You’ll practice overshot, boundweave, lace, honeycomb, petit point, and more as you vary your treadling for each pillow. All you need is a 4-shaft loom, a 10-dent reed, four shuttles, and 10/2 cotton in a variety of colors. Create a matching set of handwoven pillows for your home, or weave mini sets as perfect handwoven gifts!
